IUNO

La memoria delle cose è una fanzine nata a seguito dell’omonimo laboratorio pensato da Andrea Martinucci per IUNO, volto a mediare e favorire lo scambio e la trasmissione di esperienze e di memorie attraverso pratiche legate all’inconscio. 
Alternando tecniche di descrizione analitica e di registrazione estemporanea di emozioni, ricordi o sensazioni, le attività proposte hanno permesso di sperimentare nuove modalità di riflessione sugli oggetti quotidianamente vissuti, per rivelarne le potenzialità evocative.
Investiti di un valore sentimentale particolare o casualmente sopravvissuti allo scarto, essi sono in effetti testimonianze tanto materiali quanto esistenziali: descrivere e ragionare sui valori loro attribuiti equivale a trascenderne l’uso per recuperarne le componenti emozionali e psicologiche.
Pratiche ed esercizi svolti durante la giornata hanno condotto all’interazione con lo spazio circostante, così come al graduale affiorare di reminiscenze, immagini o ricordi sopiti. 
A partire dalla selezione di alcuni oggetti personali, ogni partecipante è stato invitato a raccontarsi in maniera inedita, dando spazio alla dimensione del ricordo e dell’inconscio, costruendo una narrazione personale svincolata dai metodi della presentazione canonica.
La ricercatrice Angelica Bollettinari, invitata dallo stesso artista, ha poi guidato degli esercizi di narrazione reciproca ispirati al libro Tu Che Mi Guardi, Tu Che Mi Racconti di Adriana Cavarero, e alla pratica del Deep Listening, sviluppata della compositrice Pauline Oliveros.
La rievocazione di storie e memorie associate a piante e alberi e la loro conseguente trascrizione su carta, ha permesso di fissare e allo stesso tempo rielaborare parti del proprio vissuto, contribuendo alla parziale riscrittura della propria biografia.
Procedendo dal generale al particolare, dall’oggettivo al soggettivo, sono sorte riflessioni intorno allo scorrere del tempo, la sua percezione e il legame che con esso assumono gli oggetti. Il dialogo e la lettura condivisa, parti integranti dell’esperienza, hanno infine permesso la costruzione di uno spazio di ascolto e fiducia reciproca.

Andrea Martinucci (1991, Roma) è un artista visivo che vive e lavora tra Milano e Roma.
Il suo lavoro è stato esposto in istituzioni e spazi sperimentali come Institut Français - Palazzo delle Stelline (Milano, 2016); IIC Los Angeles (Los Angeles, 2022); Mattatoio (Roma, 2016); Palazzo Reale (Milano, 2019); Tang Contemporary Art (Hong Kong, 2020); FuturDome (Milano, 2017); Palazzo delle Esposizioni (Roma, 2012); VUNU Gallery (Kosice, 2020); ZETA Contemporary Art Center (Tirana, 2021); Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Villa Croce (Genova, 2012); Museo d'Arte e Archeologia della Maremma (Grosseto, 2017); Fondazione Pastificio Cerere (Roma, 2012) e In De Ruimte Space (Gent, 2019).
Nel 2020 è stato tra i vincitori di Cantica21. Italian Contemporary Art Everywhere (MAECI-DGSP/MiC-DGCC), con Turbomondi (Melodia), una video installazione destinata alla Collezione Pubblica dell'Istituto Centrale per la Grafica, Roma. Ha preso parte a diversi progetti, tra i quali: Tonight we are young - New Italian Art, Triennale (Milano, 2022); Fenomeno Pasquarosa, La Fondazione - Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio (Roma, 2020); MANIFesta - Iniziative di II, MACRO - Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Roma (Roma, 2021); Rereading the Archive, Fondazione ICA (Milano,  2022) e SPRINT, O’ Space (Milano, 2017).

ANDREA MARTINUCCI: THE MEMORY OF THINGS

The Memory of Things is a fanzine born as a result of the workshop named in the same way AND conceived by Andrea Martinucci for IUNO. The workshop aimed at mediating and encouraging the exchange and transmission of experiences and memories through practices related to the unconscious.
The alternation of techniques of analytical description and extemporaneous recording of emotions, memories or sensations, and the proposed activities allowed to experience new ways of reflecting on daily objects in order to reveal their evocative potential.
Those objects may be invested with a particular sentimental value or casually surviving discard and they are both material and existential witnesses. Describing and giving reasons for the values attributed to them is tantamount to transcend their use in order to recover their emotional and psychological components.
Practices and exercises carried out during the day led to an interaction with the surrounding space, as well as the gradual reappearance of reminiscences, images or dormant memories. 
Beginning with the selection of some personal objects, each participant was invited to tell his or her story in a new way, giving space to the dimension of recollection and the unconscious, constructing a personal narrative released from the methods of canonical presentation.
Researcher Angelica Bollettinari, invited by the artist himself, led some mutual storytelling exercises inspired by the book Tu Che Mi Guardi, Tu Che Mi Racconti by Adriana Cavarero, and the practice of Deep Listening, developed by composer Pauline Oliveros.
The evocation of stories and memories associated with plants and trees, and their subsequent transcription on paper, allowed participants to fix, and at the same time rework on, parts of their own experience contributing to the rewriting of their own biography.
By proceeding from general to particular, from objective to subjective, many reflections arose around the stream of time, the perception of it and the link that objects have with it. Dialogue and shared reading have been integral parts of the experience and allowed the construction of a space of freedom and mutual trust.

In 2020 he was among the winners of Cantica21. Italian Contemporary Art Everywhere (MAECI-DGSP/MiC-DGCC), with Turbomondi (Melodia), a video installation destined for the Public Collection of Istituto Centrale per la Grafica, Rome, IT.
