MOSTRE / Alessandra Spranzi: les yeux les oeufs les jeux

a cura di: Cecilia Canziani, Ilaria Gianni

3 dicembre 2022 - 10 marzo 2023

les yeux les oeufs les jeux, Alessandra Spranzi's first solo exhibition in Rome, is the third exhibition of the program reflecting from different point of view on wilderness.
Alessandra Spranzi uses photography and other media as a way of looking at and reinventing the world: “Collecting, bringing together, assembling, matching are a way to reorganize, or surprise, vision and thought, involving the enigmatic nature of the photographic image that continually questions us”, writes the artist. Even when using collage, or photographing found images, or enlarging them, and isolating a detail, she moves within the limits - or rather the possibilities - of photography. If everything is already included within reality, our task is to give it back the ability to amaze and surprise us through a gesture, even the smallest one, such as that of looking.
A tablecloth stopped by a chair, a plate repaired with wire, a cedar fruit held in the hands are small magics: the world, with its flowing, stops for a moment. In this suspended atmosphere it is then possible to feel that restrained energy through which objects communicate, air is charged with electricity, weight ceases to exert its power, and thought is transmitted without speech. At the center of this constellation of images, stands the figure of the adolescent. Like all creatures in the making, he is enigmatic and enchanted: he is not yet domesticated. Capable of awe, he still briefly retains his wild side.
In occasion of the exhibition, Alessandra Spranzi produced a limited edition print with Litografia Bulla, Roma.
