Un laboratorio di Gabriele De Santis per IUNO STUDIO

Il laboratorio intende introdurre i partecipanti alla distinzione tra linguaggio astratto e figurativo sotto la guida dell’artista Gabriele De Santis.

I bambini, divisi in coppie, collaboreranno per costruire due piccole opere d’arte: una figurativa, che consisterà in un piccolo pappagallo in plexiglass, e una astratta, composta dai materiali di scarto derivati dalla realizzazione della prima.

Il laboratorio prevede che i partecipanti vengano alternativamente bendati affinché le opere risultanti siano il prodotto del rapporto con la materia e le forme e frutto della cooperazione tra le coppie.

Il lavoro del laboratorio contribuirà alla costruzione un progetto dell’artista, e a conclusione delle attività ogni partecipante potrà portare con sé l’opera realizzata.

• Il laboratorio è pensato per ragazzi di età compresa tra 6 e 8 anni, per un numero massimo di 10-15 bambini.
• Quando: 10 dicembre dalle ore 17.00 alle ore 19.00
• Dove: IUNO – Via Ennio Quirino Visconti, 55 – Roma
• A conclusione del laboratorio ogni partecipante potrà portare con sé l’opera realizzata.
• Tutti i materiali necessari verranno forniti da IUNO.
• E’ compresa la merenda natalizia.

Gabriele De Santis (Roma,1983) offre un’incursione nell’iconografia del presente, indirizzando la sua ricerca verso il linguaggio, i simboli, l’estetica del contemporaneo. L’artista riporta nelle sue opere il lessico che quotidianamente ci accompagna, mettendo in atto un ritratto asciutto e seducente del tempo odierno. Con coraggio Gabriele De Santis mette in discussione i codici e la materia prima che quotidianamente ci circonda, quella su cui viaggia il nostro tempo e la conoscenza su cui si basano le nostre relazioni.

Gabriele De Santis vive e lavora a Roma. Ha ottenuto un MA in Visual Arts alla University of the Arts London, UK (2010). ​​A workshop by Gabriele De Santis for IUNO STUDIO

The workshop aims to introduce participants to the distinction between abstract and figurative language under the guidance of the artist Gabriele De Santis.

The children, divided in pairs, will collaborate to build two small works of art: one figurative, consisting of a small parrot in plexiglass, and one abstract, composed of scrap materials from the first. During the workshop, participants will take turns wearing a blindfold to emphasize their relationship with the materials and enhance cooperation within the pairs.

Participation in the workshop will contribute to a larger project by the artist, and at the end of the activities participants will bring home a finished work of art. 

The workshop is intended for children ages 6-8 and is limited to 10-15 participants.

• At the end of the workshop every participant will bring home their works of art.
• All materials are furnished by IUNO.

Gabriele De Santis (Rome,1983) offers a foray into iconography of the present, addressing his research on language, symbols, and contemporary aesthetics. His work deals with the lexicon that accompanies us through daily life, creating a laconic yet seductive portrait of the ordinary. Gabriele De Santis courageously questions the codes and raw materials that surround us daily, those which travel through our time and consciousness, upon which we base our relationships.

Gabriele De Santis lives and works in Rome. He obtained an MA in Visual Arts at University of the Arts London, UK (2010).
